Joyce Krawiec, current NC Senator and former member of the North Carolina House, lives in Kernersville with her husband, Ray, and has two grown daughters. A small business owner, Joyce and Ray have a commercial Real Estate Development company in Kernersville. She currently serves as the NC Senator representing the people of District 31 in Forsyth and Yadkin counties.
Joyce most recently served as the past Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Republican Party and was recently appointed by Governor McCrory to the Council for Women.
She has served as Grass Roots Activism chair of the NC Federation of Republican Women, past Legislative Chair, New Membership Director and as Regional Vice President. A former President of Forsyth County Republican Women, Joyce has served on several committees of the National Federation of Republican Women.
Joyce was dedicated to engaging the NCFRW in the process to pass a marriage amendment to the North Carolina State Constitution. She was also instrumental in promoting the Voter ID Law, traveling across the state educating voters on these issues.
A former Grass Roots Coordinator for Freedom Works, Joyce was named the Freedom Works national activist of the year. She was chosen from the groups’ membership nearing 1 million members at that time.
In 2006, Joyce founded NC Consumer Alliance for Energy Security to promote energy independence and off shore drilling and to inform citizens about the dangers of policy initiatives such as (later introduced) cap and trade.
She attends First Christian Church in Kernersville, and is active in encouraging churches to become involved in important legislation that affects the Christian community. She believes that God has a plan for every life and that He gives us our passion to keep us focused in order to complete the plan he has for us. She feels it’s an honor to be called to do the Master’s work.
